Who Can Sell
Marketplace listings are created by Businesses on Western Mass Local, by a User authorized to manage that Business profile.
Listing Requirements
Every listing must:
- Be accurate - describe the actual item, service, price, and availability.
- Be lawful.
- Belong to, or be authorized for sale by, the Business posting it.
- Not be fraudulent or deceptive.
- Not impersonate another Business or seller.
- Not contain malware, phishing links, or spam.
- Not infringe on anyone's intellectual-property rights.
- Not advertise a prohibited or unsafe transaction.
Prohibited Categories
Given this is a general local Marketplace, the following are never allowed, including but not limited to:
- Illegal goods or services.
- Stolen goods.
- Weapons, ammunition, or explosives where prohibited by law.
- Controlled substances.
- Counterfeit goods.
- Fraudulent financial schemes.
- Sexual exploitation content.
- Other people's personally identifying information, sold without their authorization.
Reporting a Listing
If you see a listing that violates these rules, use the Report Listing action on the listing page. A moderator reviews every report and may remove the listing.
Enforcement
Reported listings are reviewed by a person, not an automated system. A moderator may remove a listing that violates these rules or dismiss a report where no violation is found. Removing a listing does not delete the report record, which is kept for moderation history.
