1. Information We Collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored hashed, never in plain text).
- Authentication information: if you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive the identifiers those providers give us for your account. If you enable two-factor authentication or passkeys, we store what is required to verify those sign-ins.
- Business claim information: which Business profiles you have claimed or attempted to claim, and any evidence or documents you upload to support a claim.
- Business profile data: information you or your team publish about a Business you manage, including contact details, locations, offers, events, job listings, and Marketplace listings.
- Local Requests: what you submit when asking for help finding a Business.
- Messages: the content of conversations between you and other participants.
- Reports: if you report a Marketplace listing, we keep a record of the report and the reason given.
- Uploaded media: images and documents you upload, such as Business photos or claim evidence.
- Request/session metadata: our servers and session storage record information such as IP address and browser user agent as part of normal request handling and session security.
2. How We Use Information
We use this information to operate the platform: to authenticate you, display Business and Marketplace content, connect Local Requests with Businesses, deliver messages between participants, review Business claims, and review reported content.
3. What Is Public vs. Private
- Business profile information you choose to publish (name, category, public contact details, locations, offers, events, jobs, Marketplace listings) is public.
- Business claim evidence and supporting documents are private - visible only to you and platform reviewers, never published publicly.
- Messages are visible only to the participants in that conversation.
- Your account email and password are never published publicly.
- Marketplace listing content is public once published, as is the identity of the Business that published it.
4. Moderator and Admin Access
A limited set of platform moderators and administrators can access private information where operationally required - for example, reviewing Business claim evidence to approve or reject a claim, or reviewing a reported Marketplace listing.
5. Third-Party Sign-In
If Google or Facebook sign-in is enabled and you use it, we receive account identifiers from that provider to authenticate you. If you connect a Facebook Page integration for your Business, we exchange data with Facebook as necessary to operate that integration. We do not control what Google or Facebook do with your data on their end - see their own privacy policies.
6. Retention
We keep account, Business, Marketplace, claim, and report records for as long as your account or the related Business profile exists, including historical records (such as resolved reports and reviewed claims) needed for moderation accountability.
7. Your Choices
You can update your account information in Settings. You can withdraw a pending Business claim yourself at any time before it is reviewed. For any other request about your information, contact us.
8. Contact
Privacy questions or requests can be sent through our contact page.
